We loved celebrating all the Halloween fun with our students this week! Now it’s time to roll those clocks back, settle into the season, and begin preparing our hearts for Advent.
A few friendly reminders as we head into November:
Morning Drop-Off: Our students need to be in the building by 7:45 a.m. We have noticed that our car lane is relatively quiet between 7:30 and 7:40, followed by a big rush right at 7:45. Please help us make mornings a little smoother by arriving a few minutes earlier. Every minute counts as we get our day started!
A Little Weekend Clean-Up: This weekend would be a great opportunity to have your children help clean out the back seats of your vehicles. We understand that life gets busy (we are parents, too!), but we are noticing quite a few items falling out of vehicles during drop-off and dismissal. This creates a safety concern for our students and staff. Please encourage your children to take ownership of their belongings and help keep the car lane safe for everyone.
Parent-Teacher Conferences: Mark your calendars for November 16 and 17! These conferences are an important opportunity to connect with your child's teacher and discuss their progress. Information regarding sign-ups and scheduling will be sent home next week. Thank you for your continued partnership, support, and cooperation. We are grateful for our St. Jude families and look forward to all the wonderful things this next season will bring!
Conversation Connection At St. Jude, we want to encourage meaningful conversations at home that help families stay connected, build trust, and navigate today’s world together. We have started a new initiative called "Conversation Connection," where each week we will share a new conversation starter for parents and students to discuss together. These topics are designed to open the door to thoughtful discussions, strengthen family connections, and encourage students to reflect on important issues both online and offline.
Want to take it a step further? After discussing the weekly topic, students can share a thoughtful response using the attached Google Form. Each completed response will earn one credit toward a student dress-down day! Once a student earns five credits, they will receive one dress-down day. We hope this weekly activity provides a positive way for families to connect with one another while also strengthening the partnership between home and school. Thank you for joining us in making meaningful conversations part of your family’s routine! Let’s keep the conversation going, St. Jude!
EARLY RELEASE CHANGES:
Any students leaving from school before regular dismissal must be picked up from the office by 2:00 pm. We made this change to alleviate the car and bus traffic back up in the driveway. Details are in the Handbook.
The Thrift Shop is open during office hours
