Religious Instruction St. Jude School proudly proclaims the Gospel message of Jesus Christ and provides religious instruction in the Catholic tradition to all students. Parents are expected to support our approach to Catholic education, as well as the policies and academic expectations of St. Jude School. The school requires all students, regardless of their faith tradition, to take part in daily religion classes and other religious celebrations and activities.
Preschool New Preschool students must be completely potty trained and turn 3 years old or 4 years old by the first day of instruction (typically the Tuesday after Labor Day) to be eligible for the preschool/pre-kindergarten programs. All students must be socially and emotionally ready for school.
Kindergarten Admission into kindergarten is based upon a formal kindergarten screening process to ensure the student is prepared academically, socially, and emotionally. Students must turn 5 years old by the first day of instruction in the school year of intended attendance. All new students and their parents are also required to meet with the principal.
Grades 1-8 Students interested in transferring to St. Jude School in grades 1-8 are required to shadow for a day to ensure we are able to meet the academic needs of the student and to determine it is a good fit for both the family and the school. This requirement may be waived for students transferring over the summer, or with the approval of the principal. All new students and their parents/guardians are also required to meet with the principal.
Acceptance into St. Jude School is based upon an applicant’s grades, standardized test scores, attendance, disciplinary records, and the shadow day. Acceptance to St. Jude School is contingent upon space available in the applicant’s grade level.
St. Jude School grants admission/readmission on a yearly basis. We reserve the right to request a student to withdraw from St. Jude School at any time.
Students with Special Education Needs At St. Jude School, we strive for academic success for all our students. Parents are asked to provide pertinent information that would impact the school’s ability to meet the child’s educational needs.
